Missing Link management approached me with a long spec list of things they wanted done for the new site including: Members Section, Online Shop, Newsletter Management, Gig Listings, Private Press Section, Downloads, Media Players, Gallery, Forum and integration with several other of the bands sites including, MySpace and Bebo, etc.. With a spec list like that which was pretty much everything you could ever want done on a website, my reliance on WordPress was always going to be sorely tested!
I’m glad to say that after a lot of hacking and plugin research, all of the above was achievable without having to write custom code or move to a different CMS. WordPress is king!
